Psalm 46:10 - Communion with God - part six - Living It!
Psa 46:10 (KJV) Be still, and know that I am God: I will be
exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
We must individually hear Him speaking to the heart. When every
other voice is hushed, and in quietness we wait before Him, the
silence of the soul makes more distinct the voice of God. He bids us,
"Be still, and know that I am God."[2 PS. 46:10.] Here alone can
true rest be found. And this is the effectual preparation for all
labor for God. DA363
What has the Lord said to you lately? Have you been quiet in
your "Quiet Times" so that He could speak to you? The Scriptures
declare that if you believe what the Lord says, you will be blessed, and
we all want to be blessed! Perhaps we should determine to listen
with our spiritual ears to what God is saying. He speaks to us
through the Word of God, through circumstances, through others, through
that inner tugging at our hearts, and through thoughts placed in our
minds by the Holy Spirit. It is one thing to listen to Him; it is
another to believe what He says. There are many Old and New Testament
saints who heard, believed and then acted. If your life was being
written about, would it show you to be a listener to God? a believer of
His Word? a doer of His commands? We would do well to seek God's
blessing in this way and today is just the day to begin anew - to listen,
believe, and act! [In His Time; Walk With Wisdom re Lk.1:45]
"Do Not Quench the Spirit"; The voice of the Spirit of God is as
gentle as a summer breeze-so gentle that unless you are living in
complete fellowship and oneness with God, you will never hear it. [In His
Time; My Utmost For His Highest re 1Th.5:19]
