Galatians 6:7, 8 - The Universal Law of Reaping What You Sow.
Galatians 6:7-8 (TNIV) Do not be deceived:
God cannot be mocked. People reap what they sow.
Those who sow to please their sinful nature, from
that nature will reap destruction; those who sow
to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap
eternal life.
COMMENTARY PEARL
My wife came home from the market awhile
back and asked me to unload the car. I like to
get as many bags on my arms as humanly possible
so I dont have to make multiple trips. I had
all these bags in my arms and was carrying them
in when I dropped one. Guess which one I
dropped? It was the one with the eggs, of course. Of
all those bags, I dropped the one with the
eggs.
Theres a law of the universe called
Murphys Law, which says that if anything can go
wrong, it will - and usually at the most
inopportune moment.
Of course that isnt a real law, but
there are real laws that govern our universe.
Theres the law of gravity, which basically says
things tend to go downward. Or, to put it a simpler
way, what goes up must come down. One of the laws
of thermodynamics essentially tells us that all
things are breaking down.
And theres the law of sowing and
reaping, which is found in the Bible: Do not be
deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap. For he who sows to his
flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he
who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap
everlasting life (Galatians 6:7"8 NKJV).
Just as surely as theres a law of
gravity as well as laws of thermodynamics, you can
be sure theres a law of sowing and reaping.
We tend to think of that law in a negative
sense, but the law of sowing and reaping is both
positive and negative.
If you sow to the flesh, youll reap
corruption, or deadness, and that is negative. But if
you sow to the Spirit, youll reap life
everlasting. [Greg Laurie from Harvest Ministries;

COMMENTARY
As life goes by, you come to realize that
its a good decision to obey God. There will be
times when that isnt difficult. And there will
be times when it is. There will be times when
its very difficult to make that stand for
Christ.
There are people in life who seem to get
ahead, even when they cut corners, even when
theyre dishonest. They still get the promotion and
still get the attention. Meanwhile, youre
laboring away faithfully and quietly, and no one
notices. Just know this: its all going to come out
in the end, because everyone will reap what
they sow.
As you look back on your life, youll
find some who pursued fun while you pursued
faith. Some pursued parties while you pursued
prayer. Some pursued sexual pleasure while you
pursued sexual purity. Some pursued this world while
you pursued the next.
But while others reap corruption, or
deadness, youre reaping life. When others feel
used, you feel new.
The apostle Paul wrote to the churches in
Galatia, For he who sows to his flesh will of the
flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the
Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life
(Galatians 6:8 NKJV).
Every day, from the moment you get up
until the time you go to bed, youre either
sowing to the Spirit or sowing to the flesh. You
can start your day by checking your social media
accounts, or you can put first things first and let
God speak to you through His Word.
You make decisions throughout the day
about what you let into your mind, what you
contemplate, what you ponder. And you will find that you
reap what you sow.
Sow to the spirit, and you wont regret
it. Do what is right before God. [Greg Laurie

ILLUSTRATION
The law of sowing and reaping works in
every area of our lives, but today I would like
you to think about it in regard to how you take
care of your physical body. Are you sowing
healthy habits so you will have good health now and
in the years to come? I am quite sure that you
want to be healthy and feel well, but you may not
be aware of how necessary it is for you to make
healthy choices daily in order to reap a healthy
life.
I encourage you to eat food that is
filled with good nutrition and avoid eating and
drinking excessive amounts of sugar, caffeine, and
chemical-laden, prepackaged options. Get good sleep, drink
lots of clean water, and exercise regularly. You
may have groaned when you read this and realized
that doing so would require discipline and some
lifestyle changes on your part; however, I can assure
you that the benefits you will reap are well
worth any sacrifice you make.
You only have one body, and if you take
care of it, it will last a long time and help you
enjoy your life. if you don't take care of it, you
will be sorry later on that you didn't. Don't
wait until it is too late to do the right thing.
Sow good health habits now and you will be
strong, energetic, and enthusiastic about life.
Father, help me make good health choices.
Teach me how to take good care of myself so I will
feel my best and serve You better. [My Time with
God by Joyce Meyer]
