2 Corinthians 3:18 - What We Behold . We Become!

2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV) And we all, with 
unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are 
being transformed into the same image from one 
degree of glory to another. For this comes from the 
Lord who is the Spirit. 

COMMENTARY PEARL

   As a middle-school teacher, I find that 
the end of the grading period is fraught with 
anxiety. I am rushing to grade end-of-quarter 
projects while my students keep asking me, Is 
there any extra credit? They are trying to 
improve their grades. Yesterday, one student asked, 
You mean I have done all the extra credit that I 
can do? I told him, Youve done 
everything, buddy. He was crestfallen. He was longing 
for the glory of all As.  
   There are moments in life when we give it 
all weve got  and we still come up short. 
The righteousness of Jesus makes this 
painstakingly clear. Our very best works, attitudes, and 
accomplishments still arent good enough to bridge the gap 
between us and a holy God. There is no extra credit 
to be found. All have sinned and come short of 
the glory of God. We cant change our hearts. 
We cant heal our minds. We cant usher 
forgiveness and hope into our own lives. That is why 
Jesus came: to lend us His glory. He knows we have 
no glory of our own - so He fits us with His. 
Jesus transforms us from glory to glory. We 
believe in Him - and He credits us with His 
righteousness. We trust Him  and He cracks the darkness 
of our lives with His brightness. We hold on to 
Him with arms wrapped tight  and He delivers 
us. All the glory belongs to Jesus. With lives 
healed and transformed, the only thing left for us 
to do is shout His praises! by Susanna Foth
