Psalm 23:4 - I Will Fear No Evil; For Thou Art With Me.

Psalm 23:4 (KJV) Yea, though I walk through 
the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear 
no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy 
staff they comfort me. 

COMMENTARY PEARL

   For weeks, Id been praying for my 
friend. She was far from home, staying near a 
university hospital where her son was being treated for 
a complex and devastating disease. One day she 
emailed and said, I couldve never imagined 
that Id experience this.  
   Another friend with a disabled child 
expressed this same feeling. There were still 
blessings to be found, but her new reality shifted her 
idea of what day-to-day life would be and 
required daily adjustments.  
   Have you ever felt the wave of unreality? 
   My friends never expected the turns their 
lives would take. As someone with boundless energy 
and enthusiasm for life, I likewise never could 
have imagined Id find myself in the wasteland 
of chronic illness that steals so much of my 
daily function. Yet here we are. The good news is 
that when we find ourselves in strange places - 
even the darkest valleys - we discover that Jesus 
is there too.  
   He doesnt forsake us. He isnt 
surprised or bewildered by the unexpected turns our 
lives have taken. Hes still working out His 
purposes. In Luke 17:20"21 (NIV) Jesus said, The 
coming of the kingdom of God is not something that 
can be observed, nor will people say, Here it 
is, or There it is, because the kingdom of 
God is in your midst.  
   In the difficult places, those we feared, 
dreaded, or never even imagined, Jesus is supporting
