Jeremiah 33 - Prayer Reveals Marvelous And Wonderful Things From God.

COMMENTARY PEARL
Pray - Don't Lose Heart
What a remarkable verse. What a
magnificent invitation! God spoke these words originally
to the prophet Jeremiah when he was imprisoned
by an evil king who hated his messages from the
Lord. So there he was, imprisoned and with an
uncertain future, and God was saying, "Call to Me.
Pray to Me. I will answer you. I'll show you
things beyond what you could have ever dreamed."
And He says the same thing to each of us.
But He won't show us those "great and mighty
things" unless we do call. In Luke 18:1 we read that
Jesus "spoke a parable to them, that men always
ought to pray and not lose heart." If you ever
needed an answer for why you ought to pray, that is
the best one right there. Jesus told you to.
Beyond the simple blessing of obedience, however,
those of us who pray will experience the joy and
satisfaction of answered prayers - such as the salvation
of a loved one, a divine healing, or God's
special provision in our lives.
Prayer is Gods appointed way for our
obtaining things. James 4:2 says, "You do not have
because you do not ask." There are potential
answered prayers waiting for you... answers that you
won't receive unless you ask for them.
Maybe you have wondered, Why is it that I
never seem to know what the will of God is for my
life? Again, you do not have, because you do not
ask. Why is it that I never have the opportunity
to lead people to Christ? You do not have
because you do not ask. Why am I always just
scraping by and never seem to have enough? You do not
have because you do not ask Why do I have this
affliction or problem that won't go away? You do not
have because you do not ask.
Let me be clear here: I am not suggesting
that if you pray, you never will be sick again,
never have an unpaid bill, or never wonder what
God's will is for your life. But I am saying there
are many times when God will indeed truly heal
you, provide for you, and reveal His will to you.
He's just waiting for you to ask. [Every Day with

COMMENTARY
We may keep so near to God that in every
unexpected trial our thoughts will turn to Him as
naturally as the flower turns to the sun. Keep your
wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and
your fears before God. You cannot burden Him; you
cannot weary Him. Take to Him everything that
perplexes the mind. Nothing is too great for Him to
bear, for He holds up worlds, He rules over all
the affairs of the universe. Nothing that in any
way concerns our peace is too small for Him to
notice. There is no chapter in our experience too
dark for Him to read; there is no perplexity too
difficult for Him to unravel. SC99-100
He [Jesus] says, "My yoke is easy, and My
burden is light." He bids them seek first the
kingdom of God and His righteousness, and His
promise is that all things needful to them for this
life shall be added. Worry is blind, and cannot
discern the future; but Jesus sees the end from the
beginning. In every difficulty He has His way prepared
to bring relief. Our heavenly Father has a
thousand ways to provide for us, of which we know
nothing. Those who accept the one principle of making
the service and honor of God supreme will find
perplexities vanish, and a plain path before their feet.

The Grand Choreographer
My friend, Pastor Randy, got a phone call
one morning from a lady who sounded pretty
distraught. She asked if he would pray for her, so they
set up an appointment at Randys church. Her
story was indeed heart-rending. She had been
studying two years to become a nurse. But when she
took the final exam to receive her license, she
didnt pass. She was crushed.
But the other part of her story was even
worse. She had recently learned the devastating
news that her husband had been unfaithful to
their marriage vows.
Her anguish spoke to Randys heart and
he prayed earnestly for her. For courage. For
hope. For friends who would come alongside her.
That God would give her the gift of forgiveness.
That the Holy Spirit would fulfill His promise
and be her Comforter.
In a few days she called again. She had
found courage from Pastor Randys prayers and
she wondered if they could meet again, but this
time could he bring someone else with him to join
them. He promised to try.
Providentially, the pastor was conducting
a series of prayer classes in his church and
he asked the group if any of them could
accompany him the next morning. Eight of the class
members volunteered. He decided to take them all.
After the rest of the class had left the
seminar Pastor Randy explained briefly about the
situation so they could pray intelligently for this
very troubled lady.
After he described some of the details,
one of the volunteers timidly raised her hand
and said, Pastor, about two years ago I
learned that my husband was having an on-going
affair with his secretary. I thought Id die. But
Id be willing to share with this lady how the
grace of God got me through. I know our situations
are different but maybe my healing can encourage
her. Pastor Randy thought to himself, Isnt
it amazing how God brought this lady to our
group today to bless someone whose story we
didnt even know yet.
A second lady from the group raised her
hand and said, Pastor, Im a member of the
State Board of Licensing for nurses. I dont
know what questions will be on her exam when she
re-takes it of course, but I do know some things that
will help her prepare. And Ill be glad to
coach her through her prep timeI am confident I
can help her get ready for the exam so she can
pass next time. And she did. And she did.
As Randy told that story I was struck
again with Gods care " and His guidance.
About how He had just the right people in the
right place at the right time. I think they call
that choreography. God has a different
explanation: Before they call I will answer.
