Psalm 136:26 - Never Unloved.
Psalm 136:26 (NCV) Give thanks to the God of
heaven. His love continues forever.
INTRODUCTION
Repeated throughout this psalm is the phrase
"His faithful love endures forever." This psalm
may have been a responsive reading, with the
congregation saying these words in unison after each
sentence. The repetition made this important lesson
sink in. God's love includes aspects of love,
kindness, mercy, and faithfulness. We never have to
worry that God will run out of love because it
flows from a well that will never run dry. [Life

COMMENTARY PEARL
I read a story about a priest who was
walking the shores of a lake with his uncle. They
watched the sun rise, and for a full twenty minutes
the two men scarcely spoke. As they resumed
their walk, the priest noticed his uncle was
smiling.
"Uncle Seamus," he said, "you look very
happy."
I am."
"How come?"
"The Father of Jesus is very fond of me."
He's fond of you, too, dear friend.
Do you find this hard to believe? You
think I'm talking to someone else? Someone who is
holier, better, nicer? Someone who didn't screw up
his marriage or mess up her career? Someone who
didn't get hooked on pills or porn or popularity?
I'm not. I'm talking directly to you. I'm
saying the greatest news in the world is not that
God made the world but that God loves the world.
He loves you, and his love for you will not
fade if you lose your way.
You have never lived one unloved day.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Relax in My Presence, knowing that
nothing can separate you from My Love. The
worst-case scenario in your life ~ that I might stop
loving you ~ is not even in the realm of
possibility. So rejoice that you dont have to perform
well enough to earn My Love, or to keep it. This
Love is pure gift, flowing out of My own perfect
righteousness. It secures your connection to Me ~ your
Savior ~ for all eternity.
Since the worst thing imaginable is not
possible, you can relax and live more abundantly. When
things are going well in your life, I want you to
enjoy those good times fully ~ without worrying
about what is on the road ahead. When you are
facing tough times, I will help you and strengthen
you with My Love. Even though you live in a
world where trouble is inescapable, you can be of
good cheer because I have overcome the world!

CLOSING THOUGHT
Give thanks in all circumstances, for
this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. I
Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)
I've always struggled with this verse,
whether I encountered it in my Bible reading or sang
it as a chorus in church. Really? In
everything, give thanks? Everything?
I've always been a "glass half empty"
kind of gal and have always been able to think of
plenty of things for which I wasn't the least bit
thankful. I secretly thought it was kind of
unreasonable for God to expect this of me or others whose
lives were much more difficult than mine.
Through the years the verse niggled at
me. I still offered thanks out of obedience,
wishing I was better at it.
It's been gradual, but I've changed. I
read the Bible and saw how Jesus lived. His
gratitude was so natural as to be almost invisible to
me. Jesus was often heard thanking His Father
and I couldn't imagine Him doing it
half-heartedly. Jesus loved God and was sure of His love in
return. He never lost sight of it.
I don't always like my circumstances, but
I now recognize that I'm unqualified to judge
them. Jesus has shown me the Father. I've finally
seen His uninterrupted, never-ending love for
me.
And now I can't keep quiet or thank Him
enough! by Suzanne Davenport Tietjen
Consider reading Psalm 136 aloud in a
modern translation like The Message before your
Thanksgiving meal. (If you're eating with children, they
love to say the "His Love never quits" refrain.)
Let the repetition drum the truth of God's love
into your heart today. [Mornings With Jesus 2018
