Revelation 7:9 - The Great Multitude.
Revelation 7:9 (ESV) After this I looked,
and behold, a great multitude that no one could
number, from every nation, from all tribes and
peoples and languages, standing before the throne
and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes,
with palm branches in their hands,
INTRODUCTION
Reward to those who honored Him. Nearest the
throne are those who were once zealous in the cause
of Satan, but who, plucked as brands from the
burning, have followed their Saviour with deep,
intense devotion. Next are those who perfected
Christian characters in the midst of falsehood and
infidelity, those who honored the law of God when the
Christian world declared it void, and the millions, of
all ages, who were martyred for their faith
Their warfare is ended, their victory won. They
have run the race and reached the prize. GC665

COMMENTARY PEARL
After living in a rather tiny bubble as a
work-at-home mom for many years, my stint as a public
high school teacher dramatically broadened my
appreciation of diversity. I've always considered myself
a cosmopolitan people person, but the variety
of individuals I met while teaching humbled
me.
My classes had students of multiple
nationalities, including those who didn't speak English at
all. Many had family backgrounds, life
experiences, economics, and spiritual traditions that
were dramatically different from mine.
Personalities, skills, talents, and academic orientation
covered the gamut. Highly motivated to help them, I
sought to understand the teens in order to connect
with them as individuals and to teach each one as
best I could.
It was very difficult work for many
reasons, and I leaned heavily on Jesus, praying a lot
through the day. Jesus whispered for me to love and
value each student as a unique creation made in
His image. He challenged some stereotypes I
didn't even know I had, and He enabled me to
outgrow some limiting beliefs by teaching me that
all people were uniquely gifted and different by
design.
Jesus used my teaching job to school me
to see all people as He sees them, as God
created them: equal and equally loved, no matter
what color, nationality, gender, or behavior. The
more I opened my mind and heart and relied on
Jesus, the bigger my bubble became. Isabella
