Jeremiah 29:11 - Gods Plans For Us Are Good; Giving Us Hope And A Future.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I 
have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to 
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you 
hope and a future. 

INTRODUCTION

We're all encouraged by a leader who stirs 
us to move ahead, someone who believes we can 
do the task he has given and who will be with 
us all the way.  God is that kind of leader.  
He knows the future, and his plans for us are 
good and full of hope.  As long as the God who 
knows the future provides our agenda and goes with 
us as we fulfill his mission, we can have 
boundless hope.  This does not mean we will be spared 
pain, suffering, or hardship, but that God will 
see us through to a glorious conclusion.  [Life

COMMENTARY PEARL

   I recently joined an online women's group 
whose purpose is to help women discover a two-word 
mission statement. I logged in to a website and 
answered a series of questions. From my answers, I 
received "Inspire Hope" as my mission statement. I 
was skeptical, but after further exploration in 
our sessions, I was surprised at how suitable 
the word was for me. 
   Hope has been a consistent theme through 
my life. When I was in college, my password to 
draw funds out of my account was "hope" because I 
hoped I wasn't overdrawn. The painful memory of my 
older alcoholic brother, who committed suicide, 
instilled in me the crucial need of hope for life. I 
believe his lack of hope for his future led to his 
lack of desire to continue living. 
   Jeremiah 29:11 is a favorite verse 
because God promises to give us hope and a future. 
I've consistently tried to share Jesus's message 
of eternal hope and hope for our here and now, 
especially after the tragic loss of my brother. Thanks 
to my online group, I'm clearer on my mission 
to inspire hope. Not a hope that runs out, like 
the money in my checking account often did, but 
the eternal hope Jesus graciously offers us.
