Jeremiah 31:3 - Gods Love is Everlasting.

Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV) The LORD has appeared 
of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you 
with an everlasting love; Therefore with 
lovingkindness I have drawn you.  

COMMENTARY PEARL

   God's love did not begin at the cross, 
but in eternity past. Before the world was 
established, before the time clock of civilization began 
to move, God's love prevailed. 
   But not until the Good News of Jesus 
Christ burst onto the human scene was the word love 
understood on earth with such depth, as God coming down 
to us inhuman form, an expression of unmerited 
love. 
   If we truly love Christ in return, we 
will want to please and honor Him by the way we 
live. Even the thought of hurting Him or bringing 
disgrace to His name will be abhorrent to us. 
   The greatest act of love we can ever 
demonstrate is to tell others about God's love for them 
in Christ. When Christ's love fills our hearts, 
it puts selfishness on the run. "We love Him 
because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19). 
   The love of God that reaches man, 
however, can be entirely rejected. God will not force 
Himself upon anyone. It is our part to believe; it 
is our part to receive. Nobody else can do it 
for us.
