Jeremiah 29:11 - Gods Plans For Us Are Good; Giving Us Hope And A Future.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I
have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you
hope and a future.
INTRODUCTION
We're all encouraged by a leader who stirs
us to move ahead, someone who believes we can
do the task he has given and who will be with
us all the way. God is that kind of leader.
He knows the future, and his plans for us are
good and full of hope. As long as the God who
knows the future provides our agenda and goes with
us as we fulfill his mission, we can have
boundless hope. This does not mean we will be spared
pain, suffering, or hardship, but that God will
see us through to a glorious conclusion. [Life

COMMENTARY PEARL
In World War II, while Dutch Christians
Corrie ten Boom and her sister Betsie were
imprisoned in the Ravensbrck concentration camp,
Betsie received three prophetic visions from God
detailing what the sisters were to accomplish after
being released. Although Betsie died in
Ravensbrck, Corrie lived to see all three visions
fulfilled. Among them was a mansion repurposed to
rehabilitate former prisoners of the war. When Corrie
first saw the beautiful estate, she realized that
it was the exact home Betsie had described
years earlier, even down to the inlaid wooden
floors.
In the middle of that inhumane prison,
God gave Corrie and Betsie the promise of "a
future and a hope. When the Lord first declared
today's verse, it was to the Jews, who were, like
the ten Booms, also in captivity. To each of us
shackled in the sin of this world, God gives the same
promise.
Do not think He has abandoned you in a
hopeless situation. In fact, God has already
fulfilled His promise through the life and death of
Jesus Christ, who came to bring us peace in the
future hope of eternal life (John 16:33). This
salvation is the plan God has for your life - the only
question is whether you will choose to follow it.
Will you give yourself over to the
despondency of this world, or will you "call upon" the
Lord, asking Him to show you the way out, like He
did for the ten Boom sisters? God promises that
if you do, He "will listen.
Prince of Peace, thank You for Your
"thoughts of peace" to me, that through You, I have a
future life and a way to gain it. [The Most Amazing
