Colossians 4:5-6 - Courage in Kindness.
Colossians 4:5-6 (CSB) Act wisely toward
outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech
always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you
may know how you should answer each person.
INTRODUCTION
Conversations about our faith are worthwhile
when we are gracious. Our words are important
because we are representatives of Christ. When we
tell others about Christ, it is important always
to be gracious in what we say. No matter how
much sense the message makes, we lose our
effectiveness if we are not courteous. Just as we like to
be respected, we must respect others if we want
them to listen to what we have to say. "Seasoned
with salt" means that what we say should be
"tasty" and should encourage further dialogue.

COMMENTARY PEARL
The ways of the kingdom of Christ do not
only apply to the way we treat other believers.
Kindness should be shown to everyone. We should be
clothed in his mercy in every interaction and
relationship. No one is left out of the love of God, so
let's resist the urge to meter it out ourselves.
Let's have the courage to be kind, even to those
who show no kindness to us.
Love is not love when it finds reasons to
withhold itself from those whom it doesn't get along.
Love is patient, kind, and gentle. It is not
jealous, and it doesn't rub others' noses in its
successes. Reflect the overwhelmingly good and abundant
love of Christ. Fill up on his mercy and kindness
in the morning, spend all you have, and refill
at the end of the day. Choose the harder path
of love, and reject pettiness, judgment, and
revenge.
Read through 1 Corinthians 13 and let it
challenge the way you interact with others today! [365
