Jeremiah 33:3 - Prayer Reveals Marvelous And Wonderful Things From God.Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.Jeremiah 33:3 (MSG) Call to me and I will answer you. I'll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own. COMMENTARY PEARL We may keep so near to God that in every unexpected trial our thoughts will turn to Him as naturally as the flower turns to the sun. Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears before God. You cannot burden Him; you cannot weary Him.... Take to Him everything that perplexes the mind. Nothing is too great for Him to bear, for He holds up worlds, He rules over all the affairs of the universe. Nothing that in any way concerns our peace is too small for Him to notice. There is no chapter in our experience too dark for Him to read; there is no perplexity too difficult for Him to unravel. SC99-100 He [Jesus] says, "My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." He bids them seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and His promise is that all things needful to them for this life shall be added. Worry is blind, and cannot discern the future; but Jesus sees the end from the beginning. In every difficulty He has His way prepared to bring relief. Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide for us, of which we know nothing. Those who accept the one principle of making the service and honor of God supreme will find perplexities vanish, and a plain path before their feet. DA330 COMMENTARY Emergency Number We have all memorized the emergency call number 9-1-1, but we also need to memorize the eternal call number: 33:3. "Call to Me, and I will answer you" (Jeremiah 33:3). This is a marvelous invitation from our Lord. But He didn't stop there. His invitation was followed by a list of great "I will" promises: I will bring health; I will heal; I will bring abundance of peace and truth; I will rebuild; I will cleanse; I will pardon (vv. 6-8). Repentance of sin is all it takes to realize God's great love. King David said, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart - these, O God, You will not despise" (Psalm 51:17). It is often into broken ground that the seeds of spring are planted; they germinate to grow into a bountiful harvest. And it is into broken hearts that God, in love, plants His Word to save and prepare His people for some great work. Call to Him; He is reaching out in everlasting love. Has the Lord healed your broken heart? [Peace for Each Day by Billy Graham] Never a Dropped Call You might think making a cell phone call is easy, but think again if you live in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Brazil, or Vietnam. These are the three worst countries for phone connectivity. Vietnam is dependent on an undersea cable prone to being damaged, and the UAE has a giant bottleneck of new subscribers (184 percent increase) since rolling out its 5G network. And if you're looking for good audio quality, don't call Thailand or Peru. Jeremiah was shut up in prison when he cried out to the Lord. God heard his prayer and assured the prophet that He, the One who created the earth, heard his plea. Babylon was coming, and Jerusalem was going to be destroyed, but God would not completely abandon His people. Seven promises are outlined in Jeremiah 33, assurances of health, restoration, new leadership, and more. The "great and mighty things, which you do not know" imply answers that are so stunning, they are almost unbelievable. When you sincerely call to the Lord in prayer, your plea will never be clipped, dropped, or blocked. David wrote, "In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears" (Psalm 18:6). God is tuned into even the faintest cry for help from the weakest child in the most remote part of the earth. And His answers will give you deep assurance that all is well when you are in God's hands. Do you need to make an urgent phone call to heaven? If your heart is humble, you may know that the Lord will always pick up your call and answer you. My heavenly Father, I have peace knowing that whatever circumstances I face, I may call upon You and You will hear my cry.
