Hebrews 6:10 - God Will Not Forget Your Love And Labor For Him.Hebrews 6:10 (NIV) God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.Hebrews 6:10 (NLT) For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do. INTRODUCTION It's easy to get discouraged, thinking that God has forgotten us, but God has not and will never do that. He is never unjust or cruel, and he never forgets or overlooks our hard work for him. Presently you may not be receiving rewards and acclaim, but God sees your efforts of love and ministry. Let God's love for you and his intimate knowledge of your service for him bolster you as you face disappointment and rejection here on earth. [Life Application SB 2019] COMMENTARY PEARL I plopped down in the corner of our dining room, our "camping corner." My husband, Ron, and I wanted to replicate the feeling we had when we spent time in nature, so I created an indoor space to mimic camping by arranging plants and chairs by our picture window. I hoped the area would be relaxing and worshipful. Most often, it's simply where I land exhausted after the school day. My job as an elementary school counselor is rewarding but challenging. A first grader cries because his mom is going to jail. A fourth grader is anxious about her dad's cancer. Helping kids with their problems is often draining. I often don't connect with Jesus as I intend throughout the week. Today, like most days, worship is the last thing on my mind. Sitting in the camping corner, I received a Face-book message. A former student thanked me for being a kind presence when she was young. I was surprised because I didn't recall a significant interaction with this student. She was one of many I'd encountered over the years. A conversation here, a word of encouragement there. Suddenly, my exhaustion evaporated and the camping corner felt worshipful. I was refreshed as I felt Jesus's favor for how I cared for His children. Funny, I went to the camping corner looking to worship Jesus, but Jesus showed me true worship happens when I tend to those He places in my care. Brenda L. Yoder Faith Step: List acts of kindness you do for others in your home, community, or workplace. Offer them to Jesus as an act of worship.
